“Crushing on DC Comics hotties” – Inquirer.net
This year, I found myself invited to the briefing for this year’s 9th Toy Convention, whose theme focuses on DC Comics’ 75th anniversary. I was surrounded by fan-boys (fan-men, really): There was one who brought his Superman figurine collection, a Red Son version (a what-if-Superman-had-landed-in-Russia-instead-of-the-US series), which was even reverently passed around and fawned over.
I kept silent because I didn’t want to betray the fact that, given a chance to choose comics on Free Comic Book day, I chose DC Kids instead of the more bad-ass titles, because it had an adorable masked puppy on the cover, and because my favorite comic-book character was Betty Cooper (superpower: good at home economics).
