MECHANICS FOR VOICE ACTING COMPETITION

  1. Open to all individual ages 16 and above.
  2. Participants will partake in a live voice acting competition on stage featuring characters from their favorite anime.
  3. A pre-registration form for those who will be joining will be made available online thru the company’s website and its affiliate organizations.
  1. A Pre-screening session will take place on June 8th starting at 10:00am at CREATIVOICES Productions Studios.
  2. Your browser may not support display of this image.Only 10 contestants will participate in the Qualifying Rounds, to be held at TOY CON 2009 Celebration on June 14, 2009 at MEGATRADE HALL 2-3, MEGAMALL.
  3. Only 5 contestants will make it to the finals, on the same day.
  4. Contestant will do their own scripts, they can create as many characters as they can as long as it will only run for 1 minute..
  5. Voice Acting will be done in Filipino.
  6. Prizes will be: 1st – _________ 2nd – ________and 3rd _________. They will also receive certificates and a chance to be recognized as a potential Dubber/Voice Talent for Dubbing. The Champion will win a scholarship from CreatiVoices Productions’ VoiceWorx Voice Acting and Dubbing Workshop, Consolation prizes will be available for those who make it to the finals.

CONTEST PROPER

PRE-SCREENING

    1. All Contestants will undergo Pre-Screening Auditions on a 1st come first serve basis.
    2. Each of the participants should have prepared script using their favorite anime characters like Naruto, Pokemon, Doreimon, etc.
    3. A contestant will be given a chance to review the file twice before judging starts.
    4. Pre-screening tests will be based on the following:
      1. Voice Quality
      2. Timeliness and Accuracy
      3. Voice Acting Ability
      4. Characterization
      5. Script Content
    5. A certificate and golden ticket (CREATIVOICES VOICE ACTING Key) to the finals will be awarded to each of the 10 finalists.

FINALS

    1. Each of the 10 Finalists will do live voice acting on stage.
    2. Each contestant have to do a 1 minute long performance.
    3. All finalists will be given a chance to review their materials before judging starts.
    4. Contestant should provide their own script for 1 minute, they can use as many characters as they can.
    5. Once the judging starts there will be no re-take and replay.
    6. The Contest will be based on the following Criteria:
      1. Voice Quality – 25%
      2. Timing and Accuracy – 25%
      3. Voice Characterization and
    • Voice Acting Ability – 35%
      1. Audience and Over-all Impact – 15%
    1. Only 5 contestants will make it to the Finals.
    MAGIC 5 FINALS
    1. The Magic 5 will voice act in impromptu style.
    2. Without the aid of any script, the finalists will invent their own lines in Filipino, based on their favorite anime character.
    3. Judging will be based on the following Criteria:
      1. Creativity and Spontaneity – 15%
      2. Timing and Accuracy – 20%
      • (Synching Ability)
      1. Voice Characterization and
    • Voice Acting Ability – 15%
      1. Audience and Over-all Impact – 20%
      2. Script Content – 30%
